About Fineprint

Our aim is to combine the customer service and approachability of high street printing companies with the pricing and knowledge structure of larger, commercial trade printers.
We’ve been successful in delivering quality print services to companies in Basingstoke and the North Hampshire area since 1994. We started, like most businesses, because we felt that we had something different to offer and still believe that holds true even today.

As our business has grown over the years, we’ve developed our in-house capabilities hugely along with our customer service levels.
In particular, 2000 was a defining year for us as we:
- Achieved ISO 9001-2000 Accreditation
- Achieved ISO 1400-2000 Accreditation
- Installed a new management system for estimating, stock control, invoicing and cost analysis
- Moved to a 5,000 sq. ft. commercial unit
- Gained Limited company status
Customer service
This is one area in which we consistently work very hard indeed. In particular, we always try to leave capacity on our printing presses for those ‘last minute’ jobs which we acknowledge are frequently encountered within the print industry.
We also aim to reduce turnaround times for print jobs by implementing improvements in both our production and fulfillment processes.
Solid management and industry experience
Fineprint is managed by Mike Woolhouse who has worked in the printing industry for 46 years. Starting as an apprentice in the bindery, Mike then moved into the press room.
This was followed by management positions, sales positions and finally teaching print and design at Reading College & School of Arts & Design (now Thames Valley University). Here, Mike became Senior Lecturer of Graphic Studies, teaching BTEC Foundation, City & Guilds, HND and Foundation Degree courses in Print Management.
Mike has also designed and run short courses on printing process technologies to clients such as Yellow Pages, Xerox, McCorquodale and the Interior Ministry of the Republic of China.
